Boston Engineering CTO Mark Smithers will discuss robotics trends and Massachusetts’ role in this burgeoning industry at PTC LiveWorx. Mark Smithers, Chief Technology Officer
Mark Smithers guides customers toward commercialization success with a combination of his product innovation experience and business acumen as a Boston Engineering co-founder. He directs operations for technologies generated within Boston Engineering, including: unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) and other robotics, and rapid prototyping modules developed in partnership with Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI).
Mr. Smithers also manages the Boston Engineering Manufacturing Innovation Center (MIC), which helps small and medium-sized Massachusetts companies bridge the gap between product development and successful commercialization. The MIC is supported by the MassDevelopment Finance Agency Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Grants program.
Mr. Smithers is the co-chair of the MassTLC Robotics Cluster and is a board member of the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) New England. Mr. Smithers holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University of Boston.
