Boston Engineering Demonstrates BIOSwimmer and MASED at COVE

Boston Engineering demonstrated its BIOSwimmer UUV and MASED multi-profile dropsonde at the June 2019 On-water Demo Day at the Centre for Ocean Ventures & Entrepreneurship (COVE). As part of the H2O Conference, the full-day COVE event featured ocean industry leaders demonstrating their latest maritime advances in Halifax Harbor.

BIOSwimmer is a biologically-inspired unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) with broad commercial and homeland security applications that include inspecting ships, securing ports, and conducting marine maintenance operations.

MASED is a multipurpose atmospheric/subsurface expendable dropsonde buoy with an adaptable and modular sensor capability that transmits live data via satellite. It is the first product to collect ocean data during developing hurricanes via multiple submerge-and-surface cycles.
