Testimonials

“Boston Engineering was instrumental in supporting the development of our first medical laser, which we successfully took through FDA pre-submissions within nine months of project inception. Together, we convened a team of domain experts to support the development of our hardware and software, including a custom enclosure, fiber delivery instrument, and bespoke software designs. Guided by a common vision, our teams collaborated weekly, and occasionally in person, to design and test the individual components until they were ready to be compiled into our prototypical device. Boston Engineering’s team was professional and courteous, and brought a wealth of knowledge and experience that helped accelerate our project delivery.”

Kimberly Shyu, Head of Product Management and Product Marketing for Terra Quantum

Digital Transformations

Digital products and digital solutions can provide a significant improvement to the way we work and live.  Boston Engineering’s digital transformation services are supported by a team that knows what technologies will meet your needs, moving you efficiently and effectively through the planning and development process. Additional services include mapping your digital solutions requirements prior to investing in developing solutions, and help building consensus and promote adoption by all stakeholders.

Advanced Data Systems

Boston Engineering proprietary data systems offer flexible deployment options for our  clients to connect the important people, equipment, and information with the spaces around them. From sensory input to sustainment robotics to hybrid cloud/local data access, our advanced data systems facilitate the sharing of company knowledge from subject matter experts with a global workforce. Employing a critical layer of connectivity between existing systems allows Boston Engineering to bridge existing infrastructure gaps and securely provide information access when and where it is needed, regardless of platform. Imagine the possibilities available with building a sensor, software, and system neutral platform that can be extended throughout all your available interfaces.

Embedded Systems

Boston Engineering will design, build, program, and test custom embedded hardware and software systems to assist in your product development process. Our cross functional team of engineers can advise, direct, and manage your project, including all aspects of electronics, firmware, and packaging/mechanical integration. Whether you need a complete, functional, delivered product, help on an existing project, and/or support for your existing engineering team, Boston Engineering delivers on all phases of the Embedded System development cycle.

Design for X

Boston Engineering uses Design for X (DFX) as an approach to engineering and design to focus on a primary variable of a product or process. This narrows in on the design activities that will influence a performance trait or feature as the desired outcome of a product development project. Examples of DFX focused projects include improving a product in the face of new competition or a market shift, extending the lifecycle (and profits) of an existing product, or quickly solving a new performance or compliance issue. The experience and capabilities of DFX are powerful tools when clients use them as part of a broader strategical approach to developing product/process differentiation, and a sustainable advantage against competition.

Robotics

Robotics systems development happens faster when you combine decades of physical design experience with the latest in ROS software integration. Through designing, testing, and deploying a range of industrial, medical, and military robotics, Boston Engineering is able to see innovation opportunities where others still marvel at the technology. From positioning systems on modern industrial equipment, to microscopic level diagnostics equipment, to force multiplying unmanned  sensing arrays, there are few other teams with Boston Engineering’s depth of robotics knowledge.

Control Systems

The discipline of Control Systems Engineering focuses on modeling a diverse range of systems (e.g. mechanical, thermal, optical etc.) followed by designing controllers (or control algorithms) that will cause these systems to behave in the desired manner. Through years of development, experimentation, and integration with functional platforms (robotics, mechanical devices, unmanned vehicles), Boston Engineering understands the modeling and simulation required to develop complex, algorithm derived controls that are adaptable in the face of multiple disturbances, and can be updated/upgraded as new challenges arise.

Unmanned Vehicles

Take advantage of the knowledge gained through developing technologies for the challenges faced by the modern military. Meeting requirements that often include stealth, limited connectivity, un-compromising security, and specialized data collection, Boston Engineering has become experts in the design and development of unmanned vehicles that can remotely perform tasks that were previously done by humans. This has resulted in systems that complete the mission at hand, protect people from injury, and in many cases extend the capabilities of detection, inspection, and repair. With many systems, jobs can be completed faster, more precisely, and by personnel with limited training, all with the help of remote assistance technologies.

Commercialization

Commercialization is the process of introducing a new product or service into the market and making it a commercial success. Commercialization involves all the activities and strategies that transform an idea, concept, or prototype into a marketable product. Commercialization is a crucial step in the product development cycle and involves various stages, including market research, product design and development, manufacturing, marketing, and sales. Boston Engineering specializes in product design and product development, with expertise in innovation to meet market requirements and address customer needs effectively, during both pre- and post-product launch. Through a range of partnerships, Boston Engineering offers consulting and/or Research & Development services at any step of the commercialization process.

Workforce Sustainment

Organizations need solutions to offset the broader market trends of shrinking workforces, new employee training challenges, and global resource deployment. Through combining technological capabilities with a versatile platform of digital, robotic, and unmanned vehicle solutions, Boston Engineering has developed   force multiplying systems to place subject matter experts on site through virtual systems and deploy relevant, timely information where and when needed to assist in critical situations.  From inspections and field assessments to warehouse location assistance, available technology can build a network of data collection, data monitoring, and data visualization solutions to counter the strain being placed on business and government resources to service and support a global operation in an effective way.
